SCHOOL ANTHEM
OUR MOTTO - TO MAKE THE LAMP BURN
Saint Joseph's School,
A sacred temple of learning
She lights the lamps, the pupils
Learning, knowledge, wisdom!
They make the oil
of her sacred sanctuary To make the lamps burn
Teachers!
The sacred hands
That trim the lamps.
Parents and society.
Ever affectionate and assisting hands
To build up children
Into integrated personalities
To mould their characters,
To point the heights,
They must reach.
MORNING PRAYER
Ref: I have come to thee to take thy touch before I begin my day.
- Let thy eyes rest upon my eyes for a while.
- Let me take to my work the assurance of thy comradeship, my friend.
- Fill my mind with thy music to last through the desert of noise.
- Let thy love's sunshine kiss the peaks of my thoughts and linger in my life's valley where the harvest ripens.

O GIVE THANKS TO THE LOARD
O Give thanks to the Lord For he is good (2)
Yes, eternal is his love
I will sing to my God never ceasing All my life, I will tell of his wonders He's the maker of all earth and heaven
Of the ocean, the seas and all they hold The Almighty is faithful for ever
He is just to the poor and the outraged It is He who gives bread to the hungry
Who delivers the captives from their chains.
It is He who gives sight to the blind in His mercy, And he raises the lowly and the humble
It is who gives shelter to strangers, Every orphan and widow He defends.
LEAD KINDLY LIGHT
Lead kindly light, amid the encircling gloom. Lead thou me on;
The night is dark and I am far from home, Lead thou me on;
Keep thou my feet, I do not ask to see, The distant scene, one step enough for me,
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou, Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path, but now.
Lead thou me on;
I loved, the garish day, and spite of fears,
Pride, rules my will, remember not past years.
So long thy power has blest me, sure it still, Will lead me on;
Over moor and fern, o'er crag and torrent till, The night is gone,
And with the morn those Angel faces smile, Which I have loved long since, and lost a while.
LORD I COME
Lord I come to your garden
To see what grows there today
Lord I come to your garden
To love, to work and to play. Lord I...
I want to work as a child of the light
I want to follow you
You set the stars to give light to the world
The star of my life is you. Lord I...
I want to see the brightness of Lord
I want to look at you
Clear sun of brightness shine on my path
And show me the way to you. Lord I....
THERE ARE NUMEROUS STRINGS
Rabindranath Tagore
There are numerous strings in your lute, Let me add my own among them - (2) Then when you smite your chords,
My heart will break its silence
And my heart will be one with your song. There are....
Amidst your numberless stars, let me place my own little lamp.
In the dance of your festival of lights.
my heart will throb and my life will be one with your smile. There are
FRANCIS' PRAYER
Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love, Where there is injury your pardon, Lord And where there's doubt true faith in you.
Make me a channel of your Peace,
Where there's despair in life let me bring hope, Where there is darkness Lord your shining light, And where there's sadness, ever joy.
Oh! Master grant that I may never seek, So much to be consoled, as to console, To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul. Make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, In giving to all that we receive,
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.
WITH YOU AS MY GUIDE
With you as my guide, I'll not want:
You are my shepherd, Lord, nothing shall I fear.
- In pastures fresh and green, You give my soul response; Near cool and restful waters, My spirit you revive.
- In values of gloom and death, No evil shall dread.
- Your strength and peaceful presence Will be my comfort sure.
- A banquet you have spared, While foes in envy watch. My head you have anointed, My cup now overflows.
- Your loving favour, Lord, Shall surely follow me Until one day in heaven For ever shall I dwell.
SING MY SOUL
Sing my soul at the joy that I feel:
There is now, dwelling in me, my God.
It is through you, Lord, that I act,
Every prayer, every thought of mine.
Comes from you, Lord divine.
Lord, it is your wish, that I may,
By my life, show people around
How to love, more and more.
It is to you, Lord, that I turn
When in need and my heart is grieved;
For your love brings me joy.
Lord, it is your wish that my life
In this world brings abundant fruit
For the kingdom of heaven.
GOD STILL LOVES THE WORLD
- Every tiny star that twinkles in the night sky, Every drop of morning dew,
Every spark of fire blazing in the furnace Every captivating view,
Every rainbow in the sky, every pretty butterfly, Tells the fascinating news to those who dare to hope.
And the message is :
God still loves the world!
God still, still loves the world.
So throw your life into His hands.
Day by day discern his plans:
God is passionately busy loving you and me!
- Every ocean wave that breaks upon the seashore Every stalk of golden wheat,
Every drop of honey sweet.
Every eagle flying high, every worm that wriggles by .........
- Every man and woman pledged in love for ever, Every little new born child.
Every voice in favour of a needy neighbour.
Every hand that offers love, every surging flow of blood .......
LIBERATION
The world stands in need of liberation my Lord, It still has to feel yours power
The blind and the deaf, the dump and the maimed, All need to feel your healing louch.
The world stands in need of liberation my Lord It still has to learn to love '
There are those who have eyes but
Refuse to see inhumanity that's done
There are those who have ears but
Refuse to hear the cries of those in agony.
The world stands... power
There are those who have mouth but
Refuse to speak against injustice done to some.
There are those who have hands but
Refuse to reach them out in love and charity.
The world stands ...... Power
There are those who have talents
they do not use to build a true community
And we know that we all have the
Talents to love. But leave it buried to In ourselves.
The world stands......... Power

Fearing not the long dark night
Here I come, 0 Lord
Here I come Just like a child (2)
Just like a child, that guilty deeds oppress
With mind and heart in trouble and distress
Who throws himself into his mother's arm
Sure she'll free him from his qualms
Here I come, 0 Lord
Here I come Just like a child (2)
FAREWELL SONG
Deep within my heart I feel
Voices whispering to me
Words that I can't understand
Meanings I must clearly hear
Calling me to follow close
Lest I leave myself behind
Calling me to walk into
Evening shadows one more time
Chorus
So I leave my boats behind!
Leave them on familiar shores!
To just my heart upon the deep!
Follow you again, my Lord!
